Our 35 Year Story

Welcome

Since 1987, The market celebrates offering Calgary families a lively, warm and unique shopping experience. As we progress on the second generation of owner/operators, we aim to make the next 35 years just as fun and fulfilling! Today, the Crossroads Market family has deep roots in Western Canada and Southern Alberta and comprises over 150 diverse and dynamic vendors and, of course, our valued customers.

Our Vendors are our Family

Crossroads began with the idea to allow Calgarians a stepping stone in to entrepreneurship. That mindset has continued with thousands of different vendors coming through our doors, having a safe environment and a community of like minded people to learn from. This has allowed many businesses to flourish. Many of which have stayed with us for decades, even generations!

Our Customers are our Community

The staff at Crossroads and vendors have made a point to get to know our customers. We love to hear your stories, vendors you love to visit and see your families grow and change. We love nothing more than to hear the stories like “I’ve been coming here since I was a kid” or “I remember when you used to have to pay a quarter to get in!”

A lot has changed but our love for people and community remains at the forefront.

Cultivating History & Sowing Seeds

In 1987, the Crossroads Market opened its doors just off of 16th Avenue and Barlow Trail, in Calgary’s northeast. The Market quickly became home to a unique array of merchants, some of whom are still with us! From the very beginning, the Market has been all about keeping things simple and letting the diversity of the vendors and their products, along with the comfort and needs of our patrons, intersect to create a shopping experience that reflects the can-do spirit of this ever-changing city and the people who call it home.

The Crossroads Market has always been active in the community. Not only do we value being an incubator for new and local small businesses, we are also proud supporters of many Calgary organizations, events and charities. Throughout the year, the Market plays host to tons of different fundraisers and events in support of schools/students, non-profits and arts and sports organizations.
